I've Got a Blog!

Hey, I’ve got a blog! I’m going to let that soak in for a second, and go update my resume’. I think I’ll put “blogger” right between “1987 Best Popcorn Maker at Nebraska high school basketball games; Lincoln Journal Star” and “First cousin once-removed in-law of Clyde Tombaugh, the man who discovered Pluto”.

Okay, I’m back. Funny, I don’t feel much different with my new title. Also, I just asked my boss, and he’s not giving me a raise as a result either. But I’m a blogger, so I’m gonna blog. First, a little background:

You’re likely here because you were looking for information about City on a Hill. Hopefully, you can find the info you need somewhere on these pages. But if you can’t, send me a note at jjspringer@familyfirst.org and I’ll try to help you out. Here’s all you need to know: Our alums (and their parents) invariably tell us that City is a huge, positive experience for them as they prepare for the “real world” of college, career, ministry and other challenges they’ll face when they’re not under mom and dad’s roof anymore. I promise you, if you’ll apply, you won’t regret it.

My goal is to post here 1-2x per week, so we’ll see how that goes. Since this page is dedicated to City on a Hill, most of what I discuss will tie in with worldview, Christianity, culture apologetics etc. in some way. But everything is fair game. If you read something here that you like, don’t like, or don’t understand, please let me know. Especially if you don’t agree. I’m a big boy. Let’s just try to act like grownups here.

Until my next post, here are some great places to go visit. Of course, I can’t vouch for everything on these sites, but they’re generally pretty good: www.str.org (click the blog link), www.hughhewitt.com, www.lileks.com, http://www.scriptoriumdaily.com/middlebrow/, and, of course www.homestarrunner.com.
